Ag\u00eancia Brasil \u2013 O prefeito de Turil\u00e2ndia (MA), Paulo Curi\u00f3, est\u00e1 preso preventivamente no Complexo Penitenci\u00e1rio de Pedrinhas, em S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ap\u00f3s audi\u00eancia de cust\u00f3dia, realizada na \u00faltima quarta-feira (24), o Plant\u00e3o Judici\u00e1rio Criminal da Comarca da Ilha de S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds disse que as pris\u00f5es preventivas dos investigados s\u00e3o regulares.\u00a0Al\u00e9m deles, cinco vereadores que estavam com mandados de pris\u00e3o em aberto se apresentaram na quinta (25) na Unidade Prisional de Pinheiro (UPPHO) para instala\u00e7\u00e3o de tornozeleiras eletr\u00f4nicas.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

O grupo \u00e9 investigado juntamente com 20 vereadores e um ex-vereador por integrar um esquema milion\u00e1rio de desvio de recursos p\u00fablicos<\/strong>. Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o do Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico do Maranh\u00e3o (MPMA) aponta que eles integram uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o criminosa respons\u00e1vel por desviar mais de R$ 56 milh\u00f5es do munic\u00edpio, situado na Baixada Maranhense.<\/p>\n

Na segunda-feira (22), o Grupo de Atua\u00e7\u00e3o Especial de Combate \u00e0s Organiza\u00e7\u00f5es Criminosas (Gaeco), do MPMA,\u00a0 deflagrou a Opera\u00e7\u00e3o T\u00e2ntalo II, com o cumprimento de 51 mandados de busca e apreens\u00e3o e 21 mandados de pris\u00e3o. Em um \u00fanico alvo, em S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds, foram apreendidos quase R$ 2 milh\u00f5es.<\/p>\n

De acordo com a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, durante a gest\u00e3o de Paulo Curi\u00f3, a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o criminosa praticou os crimes de fraude em licita\u00e7\u00e3o, corrup\u00e7\u00e3o ativa e passiva, peculato e lavagem de capitais. O esquema gerou um dano ao er\u00e1rio de mais de R$ 56 milh\u00f5es.<\/strong><\/p>\n
