Ag\u00eancia Brasil- Em visita ao Brasil, o diretor-geral da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mundial da Sa\u00fade (OMS), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, disse nesta quarta-feira (7) que o surto de dengue registrado no pa\u00eds faz parte de um grande aumento de casos da doen\u00e7a em escala global. Segundo ele, foram relatados, ao longo de 2023, 500 milh\u00f5es de casos e mais de 5 mil mortes em cerca de 80 pa\u00edses de todas as regi\u00f5es, exceto a Europa.<\/p>\n

Durante a cerim\u00f4nia de lan\u00e7amento do programa Brasil Saud\u00e1vel, Tedros lembrou que o fen\u00f4meno El Ni\u00f1o, associado ao aumento das temperaturas globais, vem contribuindo para o aumento de casos de dengue no Brasil e no mundo. O diretor-geral da OMS comentou ainda a vacina\u00e7\u00e3o contra a doen\u00e7a e disse que o pa\u00eds tem uma capacidade gigantesca de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de insumos desse tipo.<\/p>\n

\u201cO Brasil est\u00e1 fazendo seu melhor. Os esfor\u00e7os s\u00e3o em interromper a transmiss\u00e3o e em melhorar o controle da doen\u00e7a\u201d, disse. \u201cTemos a vacina e isso pode ser usado como uma das ferramentas de combate\u201d, completou.<\/p>\n
