A reelei\u00e7\u00e3o de J\u00e2nio Natal \u00e0 prefeitura de Porto Seguro foi confirmada por unanimidade pelo Tribunal Regional Eleitoral da Bahia (TRE-BA). Na \u00faltima quinta-feira, 17 de outubro, o tribunal rejeitou os embargos de declara\u00e7\u00e3o apresentados pela coliga\u00e7\u00e3o \u201cO Futuro em Nossas M\u00e3os\u201d, liderada por Cl\u00e1udia Oliveira, que tentava invalidar a candidatura de Natal. A coliga\u00e7\u00e3o argumentava que ele estaria concorrendo a um terceiro mandato consecutivo como prefeito, o que \u00e9 proibido pela Constitui\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

A decis\u00e3o do TRE-BA refor\u00e7a o resultado das elei\u00e7\u00f5es de 6 de outubro, nas quais J\u00e2nio Natal obteve mais de 45 mil votos, representando 54% dos votos v\u00e1lidos.<\/p>\n

Embargos de Declara\u00e7\u00e3o<\/h2>\n

Os embargos de declara\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o instrumentos jur\u00eddicos utilizados para esclarecer poss\u00edveis pontos obscuros, contradit\u00f3rios ou omissos em uma decis\u00e3o judicial. No entanto, o TRE-BA entendeu que n\u00e3o havia qualquer erro ou omiss\u00e3o na decis\u00e3o anterior e, por isso, rejeitou o recurso, mantendo a reelei\u00e7\u00e3o de J\u00e2nio Natal.<\/p>\n

Decis\u00e3o <\/h2>\n

A corte eleitoral, composta por sete magistrados e presidida por Abelardo Paulo da Matta Neto, foi un\u00e2nime em validar a reelei\u00e7\u00e3o de Natal. A relatora do processo, desembargadora Ma\u00edsa Ceal Carvalho, votou pela rejei\u00e7\u00e3o dos embargos, sendo acompanhada pelos demais membros do tribunal.<\/p>\n
